Default Raising the redline

I recently bumped the redline (via the AEM EMS) to 9500 rpm. All I can say is unbelieveable. By lowering the V-tec engagement point 800 rpm and raising the redline 600 rpm it adds 1400 rpm to the power band. Adding 1400 rpm in the power band makes it feel like a racecar.

Anyone else bumped the redline on their S?

WARNING: Don't try this unless you have fortified your valve train.

Ti retainers, upgraded springs, lighter valves. Yes, I post on s2ki.

no, it's on the 2.0L engine.

Becareful with raising the rev limit, while the head can support it, the high rev's eventually lead to bearing or rod failure. But I can say in you supercharged application, you'll see gains but there aren't any gains to be seen NA with raising the rev limit, only more wear and tear on the engine.

If it ain't reliable for a long *** time, it's not worth the headache to most.

And I'm in with the most.

362.9 hp with 216 ft lbs torque.

you can see the dyno here: http://forums.s2ki.com/forums/...15021

I think it will be reliable for a long *** time. It sure is a kick to whoop a Z06 fair and square. At 2750 lbs, it's just under 7.6 lbs per horsepower now and with a little effort I could see 6.XX lbs per horsepower shortly.

sideways,
i would like a ride in shot-gun to feel the power. raising the redline is pretty crazy and dropping the vtec point is like no waiting around.

so your vtec point is @5200 rpm??

what is the draw back when lowering the v-tec point?
