I don't know of any non-vtec D-series camshaft that will offer you much of an upgrade, but have you considered a cam from someplace like Gude Performance?

you can put a d16a6 cam in there,
it'll bolt right up and give you a nice upgrade.

either that or try getting a delta regrind cam, get the 262profile,
the 272 is just way too gnarly.

Thanks Padawan.....Gude is very nice but I am looking for a cheap alternative.

Thanks Tad....I wasn't sure but the D16A6 cam did cross my mind....do you know the difference and how that will change performance? if it will bolt right up do you know anyone or have you heard anybody do that before for some more power? thanks again guys.

yeah I knew a guy who ran an a6 cam on his d15b7,
he said he figured it was good for like 6-8hp,
somethin like that.

i'd say its equivalent to a stage 1 cam upgrade

Good info. How does the timing on the A6 cam compare with that of the D15B7?

Edit: I just did a bit of searching, and it appears that an adjustable sprocket will be necessary to get the timing to a proper spec when using this combo.
