14's is easy with a zc

My mods:

88 Crx Si
Sohc Zc - Ebay intake with KnN/no name 4-2-1 Header, 2.25 Mandrel bent exhaust, gutted cat,PG7 ECU, Zex 65 shot

Lowerred on some Aerospeed coils and tokiko blues, 15" slipstreams on Azenis

Im just guessing but I know Im low low low 14's because I can take my friends gsr eg hatch and he runs a 14.3

My 60' are great because of the azenis and getting through the gears with nitrous is easy

Getting a zc into the 14's would be easy with jsut some bolts ons and a strong running engine I would think

Sohc Screamer coming soon

on slicks it is possible with bolt ons. street tires are a different story, but with cams and some tuning, a ZC in an ef chassis should be able to run sub-15's

i ran a 4.8 on slicks with a d16a6 i figure 20 more hp should give you a 14.8 on street tires right? Have you drove at track before how are you launches?

ZC dohc and sohc are great engines, I was impressed the power the sohc zc with zc lsd tranny in an old friends 90 si hatch could do. Weaved in and out of traffic really nice, very easy accleration no stubburness. I have heard of ZC dohc's making good power 160hp so I would say its verrrrry possible to do with stock bottom, but if it was me I would get it up to 10.5-1+ comp. and a whole new valvetrain/cams to take and make peak power at 7500 rpm, there are alot of people out there that love and specialize in just the ZC dohc engine do a search on it!

I have a set of Jun stage 3 cams waiting to go in, once they're in and I get a decent set of semi-slicks I'm gonna tear up palmdale :D, I'll keep everyone posted. - Darrell

Lol, it's "confirm". Anyways, yeah DOHC ZC's are ok. I never see them in the high 14's at my track, mostly low to mid 15's.

If I ever work out the bugs I will be a the track trying to break into the 14's. Car is 88hf with I/H/E. Car weighs 1860#. That's with full interior, spare tire, and A/C.

I got to thinking about it and maybe he has one of those special ZCs that are DOHC VTEC and come with a B16 stamp on the block

contact Wil at http://www.exospeed.com . they have pretty good cams for the DOHC ZC, but they are regrinds, so you either need a spare set, or have to send your stockers in as a core.
