Hi All,
I just got the 82 Accord up and running, and converted/charged the A/C from R12 to R134a. (A/C blew warm air before... Old stuff I guess, no signs of leaks) Here's the problem, when I turn the A/C on at idle, the RPM's drop to about 200 and runs extremely rough, or it dies completely.

I remember a Honda mechanic showed me the vacuum adjustment somewhere around the carb on my old 81 Accord, that you adjust for correct idle while the A/C is on, but I can't remember where it was, nor can I find anything like it. Maybe they changed it with this model year?

I've already changed spark plugs, wires/cap/rotor OK, timing is good, refridgerent pressure is at normal levels.

If anything, I can drive with the A/C on, I just have to turn it off before I come to a stop... Or play with the gas/brake/clutch all at once while coming to a stop. ... Nah...

Yes there should be an idle boost diaphram on the drivers side of the carb, that opens the throttle plate slightly. It has a phillips head screw adjustment on the stop lever. It is activated by a solenoid on the firewall.
