Default is my clutch going out?

i let taught my friend how to drive stick on my car today. it's a stock d16z6 si hatch. she was so HOT, i couldn't resist!!!

anyway, when i was driving home.. my clutch felt really weird. it's not as stiff as it was before, and it doesn't grab instantly when i switch gears. i knew something was up, so i took it all the way from 1st-3rd, i notice between the shifts.. the rpms were slipping. for instance, when i took it to 7200RPM, and shifted to second and mashed the gas pedal, the RPMS still dropped!! it started to grab like a almost 2 second later. is my clutch going out? oh NOsssssss!

I doubt it. It's probably all in your head. Even if it's going that means you get to upgrade to an aftermarket

hmmm - fry your clutch BUT - possibly score with a hot chick? Hey, even if she did f up your clutch, maybe it would be worth the $200+ replacement/upgrade to a new one anyway??

First - Why are you shifting at 7200 RPM? Do you drive like this often? If so, THAT may be the cause of clutch slippage / wearing.

Second
- There is usually a distinct smell associated with burning / glazing clutches that is hard to miss - If you smelled something weird, it might be a clue that she might have messed up the surface a little...

Third - Please don't take offense - But there's no such thing as RPMS - The acronymn for RPM is:

Revolutions... (Notice Plural)
Per
Minute

By saying RPMS you are saying "Revolutions per Minutes..."

Well, even if the clutch is a little worn - I say it might have been worth it - So, did she sign up for lesson # 2???? hahahah

lol, no i don't usually shift at 7200. i only went that high to see if my clutch was ok. i think it's slipping yeah, i think it was worth the the burnt clutch! it's hot to see a chick drive a stick!! "put ur left foot on the clutch, and your right hand on my shifter - i mean the shifter!"

oh yeah, i was at the local mobil, and i picked up one of their flyers.. and it was like a sign, i tell u!! oem clutch kit + labor for 137.99

how many miles do you have on it? if it was slipping rpm's shouldnt drop they should actually stay up if the clutch is slipping. like if you slammed second you hear it kind of rev up then drop back down and engage if it was slipping. at least that has been my experience
