Default Alarm against vandalism

I have to park my car outside on the street. Is there any alarm system out there that will go off if the car is keyed over night, or otherwise vandalized?

You can get alarms with prox.[motion] sensors, alpine 150 comes with duel impact/prox. , soft impact will chirp the siren and flash parklights 2 times, outside prox. zone will chirp siren and flash parklights 4 times, these are warn aways only.
You could set sensitivity up high on impact, but you will get more falsing same gos for prox., now with all that said , there is nothing out there that will stop someone from doing damage to your ride if they want to, or stealing it .

All you can do is "layer" on the security, use brand name stuff, have it installed by a pro., and hope and pray that your 275 lb pro football player uncle just happens to pull up when some jerkoff is messing with your car.

hope this helps. 94

Thanks for the info.

I was just worried about my ride because a buddy of mine had is car keyed up.

IMO, it won't be such a bad experiance if you catch the guy doing it...

my friend told me about this new thing were you have a chip that connects to a program on your laptop or pc. If your car is vandalized you justy simply go on a pc or computer using the program and you see where your car is, then you could go to were your car is and beat the **** out the person that took your car

yeah but i think what some guys are trying ot say here is someone could walk by your car and key the **** out of it and by the time you get out to your car, the person who did it is long gone. stealing the car is a different story though. although by the time you realise your car is gone they've probably stipped the parts they want off of it and the frame is in a field somewhere.

the moral of the story is have comprehensive insurance, then you have nothing to really worry about.
