Hey guys this is my first time posting but i had a question maybe you could help me with....I just got a new muffler put on my 95 coupe(already had the piping) and combined with my straight through cat. converter it's really loud. The question is if i put on the silencer provided with it will rob me of horse power? or will it just quiet the sound? Thanks for your reply's guys.....

 

it'll drop your exhuast flow a bit and therefor drop the horsepower, but it won't be too drastic on a lightly built car... I had a tanabe on my supercharged car and the silencer was barely noticable in the butt-dyno. If anything just slap it in and see if you can feel the diff. and if you can decide if its enough to deter you from keeping it in.

 

In mine I lost a little barely noticeable top end power but it helped low end torque a tiny bit.

 

really? I guess perhaps a bit better exhaust gas velocity through the pipe when there's a lower volume of gas going through it in the low end eh?
