Default question about rear camber bolt

i got into a wreck and the shop fixed my rear axle. where you replace the bolt and add washers to fix the camber they put an english bolt in it so it stripped my thread. so i can't put a metric bolt in it. anyone have any sugggestions on how to fix it. i took it out and put washers in it and i just put the bolt back in and now i'm afraid to take it out cause i might not be able to put it back in.

The shop that did that should retap the threads and get you a proper bolt for the new hole they made. Crap like that is why I won't even let someone else change my air filter.

i was thinking that, but it's been a while since my car has been fixed. really it's been like 2 or maybe even 3 years now. but i didn't find out till a couple of months ago. never looked and never fixed the rear camber till then.

What sucks is, the reason you take it to the shop is because you trust them to do the job right.

buy a tap set and just re tap it. thats the only way to find out. Sooner or later you will want to work on it, go to a pepboys and see what they say about retapping the bolt hole and remeber to buy a new bolt

helicoil + tap and die set. you can repair the threads and use a factory style bolt
