Default D15z1 mini me

ok so i'm going to put on either a z6 or a y8 head on my 1.5L beast but i know the compression will be **** do to the HUGE crater-ed(whatever..) pistons.
SO my question is will some z6 pistons help this?
Also how would z6 rods work on a d15 block? my guess is a no go but still wondering....
Please help

Z6 will help, but to maximze the setup i'd use A6 pistons. You MUST use the VX rods with that block if you're putting the D16 pistons in.

ok thanks
I'm guessing a6 will yeild higher compression?but how much more than the z6 cause i'm planning on going FI sometime in the future, so will the comp still be ok with a6 for that or high?i'm in a dark grey area when it comes to this subject so any help is appreciated.
o and why must a use vx rods for d16 pistons? i know the rods are like 3mm longer almost d16 rod length but that confuses me on why no d16 rods?the stroke i'm guessing...idk please help

With A6 pistons it will be like 10.5 : 1 If you are going FI in the future it wont matter because i'm pretty sure that they don't make forged rods for the Z1. I'd personally try and pick up a Z6 block and build it from there if you are going F1 in the future...the rods on the Z1 are weak.

yeah but buying a block and building it would be a bitch and cost me WAY to much so what is the chances of a 1.6L crank going into my z1 along with some 1.6L rods and the a6 pistons? or

if that won't work i guess i should drop my dreams of FI on this or swap it out...

d-series blocks wouldn't go for that much give or take 100... thats why people stay d-series because its so cheap!

yeah but everything else that i would need would add up quickly...

o and i found out that d16 cranks will not fit into a d15 block due to journal issues, i won't act like i know what i'm talking about so what are "journal issues"and is it possible to work around them?

o and another interesting tid bit a d17 crank WILL drop into a d16 block with not much work required from what i read....

so bump about the d16 crank issue and the cost of building a block with lets say stock componets new or used....
