anyone know off hand what size ratchet piece you need to remove spark plugs?

It's 5/8ths, but go buy a spark plug socket and your life will be much easier.

 

I actually have the ratchet, I need to know the size of the socket fot the plug.

 

Like I said, it's a 5/8ths socket. But go buy a socket specifically for spark plugs or you'll have a hell of a time getting the plugs out of the head.

And for reference sake, there is no 5/8ths drive ratchet. The majority of spark plug sockets are for 3/8ths drive though.

 

I never had too much luck with spark plug sockets. I just use a deep 5/8" socket and use the spark plug wire to pull it out of the head once it's loosened all the way out.

 

i use a 16mm deep socket

 

5/8 and 16mm is the same size.
