Default Anyone Ever PopRivot Sheetmetal Under The Car?

Cars do for a safety check soon and I can tell there are a few hols in the floor board that dont seem to go through to the cabin, just rusted and ugly

SO I was thinking, instead of paying hundreds to get it all welded, can I just pop rivot some sheet metal in there, maybe even 2 layers of the **** for more strength

Then I could put some caulking all around the metal to seal it and then spray some underbody tar/undercoating whatever you wanna call it, and theyll never know right?

Need suggestions

that sounds like it'd work. instead of using two pieces you can just get a thicker gauge

And theyll pass that right? Because itll be sealed, secure and no holes

Ive got a lot of this sheetmetal at home maybe between 1/16 and 1/8, 2 layers would be perfect

Just wanted to make sure it wasnt illegal to have it not welded

id use like atleast a 20 gauge sheet of metal...that should really be thick enough not to cause u anymore problems... However, your just covering up the rust, and u might end up falling through someday :D
