Default shift know

ok ok ok... has anyone else come across this problem:

i wanna put a new shift **** on my 2001 lx coupe... but the leather boot is attatched to the **** and it's not just a simple unscrew... i cant figure it out myself... but i really havn't been racking my brain around it, either... i figured i'd just ask

If it is like the preludes then it just pulls down. Try that, but I am not sure because I don't have one.

yeah underneath the **** you will feel a plastic collar press in on the front and back of that and pull down and then you should be able to turn the **** right off
