power lost
what's up guys?
for the past two days i can feel that my car lacks power. its like it has lost about 20-30hp. i don't what's up with it.
torque is the worst. i can't even accelerate with the gas pedal half way in.
this happen after two of my radiator hozes gave up.
one is located under the throte body and the other hoze is located under the distributor. i replaced both of them
by the way my car is a 90 accord ex automatic.
i checked the oil in the tranny just to be sure and the oil is ok.

when you say your radiator hoses gave up, did you continue to drive on the motor w/o coolant, creating a hot engine? if so, you could have warped something to the point of creating power loss...
the most the temperature went up was 80%.
and i stoped after it. but my car drove good after that. i didn't have any problems.
the problems came up 2 weeks after that.
i drove my car today after 4 days of letting it in park and it drove ok.
why does this happen.

if your motor siezed up a few times (impossible in itself to sieze multiple times), how did it manage to still spin like a champ???

a motor designed to be air cooled with the right ducting would survive ok...unfortunately, any current honda motor is not designed to be air cooled and will likely not air cool itself enough and will probably end up overheating and breaking key parts in the motor that make it work...i/e rods, head warpage, valves etc....it wouldn't be pretty....
