Default accord tranny fliud question

hi, i am planning on flushing my tranny fluid soon. i search the forum and found that some people prefer Honda MTF. i have a 2001 auto accord. i know they've been known to have tranny problems, so i want to know whats the best fluid to use. so is the Honda MTF the best way or is there anyone out there i should try.

thanks in advance

Uhhh.... Honda manual transmission fluid probably won't work too good in your auto But Honda ATF is good stuff and your tranny will thank you for it

Honda ATF my friend... Not to thread jack but i had a question about measuring the tranny fluid... The motor should be normal operating temperature. But should the dip stick be checked by pushing the dipstick all the what down until its in place or just enough before it needs to be pushed down? And some people say the measurement should be in the middle of the hashes and some say until the line... Anyone know the right way of checking? Thanx

Push the dipstick all the way down. Fluid can be at the top marker OR in the safe area. DO NOT OVERFILL OR UNDERFILL. also, make sure the engine is off and on level ground when checking.

yes. also the longer you let the car sit on a level plane with the engine off while adding fluid the better. In other words, add fluid and WAIT a while before checking level.

wow, easy way to up your post #, uhm, stick with the regular tranny fluid, the one that is recommended for your car, its usually always the best unless you've done super extensive mods to your transmission which require a better fluid, until then, Honda trans. fluid is the way to go!
