Default Body Work for Hood

Hey guys I just had a quick question about some body work I need to do for the hood. Due to an assinine and quite moronic "accident" I now have a large dent in the hood with a small gash (about 2 inches long and 1/4 inch wide). The dent itself is probably about 6 inches in diameter.

Basically I'm just wondering how much you guys think it'll be to repair and paint the friggin' hood. Also I was wondering at what point do I say forget repairing it and go pick up a CF hood or just another hood from some OEM dealer? Thanks guys.

Btw this is all for my 6th gen. Accord coupe.

Weld a piece of sheet meatal in place of the gash. Go the Wal Mart and buy the name brand 'bondo' fiberglass resin in a blue can. Then sand that down and bondo over the top of that.

There's a bondo that has fiberglass hairs in it = fiberglass
then there's regular bondo

both are made from the brand name 'bondo' and are cheap...about 10 bucks a can at the most.

But there's still the matter of the dent. I need to pop it back out and I can't do it myself.

Just to let you know this is the cheap way of doing it...maybe you should buy a carbon hood.

You said that there's a dent and within the dent there's a hole right??

If the dent is really bad then pull it out by drilling a self tapping screw into certain places and pull it out with some pliars. Then finish it off by putting some more fiberglass resin and sanding it smooth.

Get a new certifit hood? Only like $40 and then get it painted.

IMO it sounds like a perfect opportunity for a CF hood aren't they around 400 for oem style? Worse case go to a junkyard but we all know thats next to impossible to find one in decent shape if at all .

Damnit. No one around me ships or delivers or anything to CA. Nearest one is in San Diego about 2 hours away.

Oh I forgot. Certifit doesn't ship. Pick up only.

$45 hood + 2 hr. drive -----> $400 CF hood or $400+ to fix hood.

Can't argue with that.
