help with tranny

Default help with tranny

Ok this is the deal, my tranny mount has three bolts, the rear bolt has stripped itself out of the bell housing. Whats the most efficent way to re tap and put a new bolt in there?. The threads are totally gone.. any help thanks

re-tap for bigger bolt if you can, or helicoil it

well, you COULD take the case to a welder and have him fill it with aluminium filler material, then drill and tap you a brand new hole, but you best make sure he's the best damn AL welder in town with the best damn TIG equipment in town. Usually guys who weld up cracked motorcycle blocks, or guys who work on stuff like tools/dies/molds for the stamping/casting/molding industry. Good luck!
