Default 91 Accord Shifting Problems at low speed & AT Code 4

Hello,

I have a 1991 Honda Accord SE (Automatic).

My car died last week, and the mechanic diagnosed and had to install a new distributor. Additionally, he also installed new spark plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter, air filter.

Been having this weird problem since I got my car back.

At low speeds, esp when in 1st or 2nd gear or from complete stop, I really have to push the gas pedal to get the car to accelerate and move quicker, and once it shifts into the next gear and I take my foot of the gas pedal, it drops back to the previous gear ( from 2nd to 1st).

I dont know what the problem is or if the mechanic messed up?

Can anyone help in this situation.

Also, what does an AT (tranny) code 4 (4 short flashes of S Light when doing ECU Code test) mean on my car?

Thanks,

hondafan2000

Thanks alb_accord.

The code 4 refers to faulty speed sensor (VSS). I will inspect and replace that if necessary.

Can anyone help me with this?
