Default 2.2.5 to 2.5" exhaust piping? good/bad/whatever?

Ok so i'm planning on running my buddies ITR piping for exhaust,
but I"m thinking i'll get a universal and some 2.5" piping from the axle back.

is this .25" step up in diameter a problem at all? or is it just freer flowing at the end?

I know they use stepped designs in headers occasionally,
but I dont think i've seen it in exhaust..

sounds good to me, but I wanted to hear what the ht folk thought first.

thanks.

You wont have any problems, if thats what your asking. For Gains, i dont think youll get that much, or any for that matter because its still restricted air from the cat to the axle back.

Atleast thats how i see it being. I would just do a whole 2.5 exhaust.

def not good. whats the size piping we should use on a B18b?.. 2.25" OR 2.5" I think i might have even bigger than that. its rediculously big. i have a feeling it might be 2.75" or 3" even. the car used to have nitrous and almost seems as if its too wide open. suggestions welcome?

#1. unbolt the exhaust
#2. measure the diameter of the piping
#3. don't hijack someone else's thread

a note,
the engine i'm going to be running is a jdm d15b,
the ITR piping will be perfect for it n/a,

I wouldnt run 2.5

but i might put my turbo kit on one of these days..
so 2.5 would be nice.. just swap out the center piping.

its not going to make any difference going from 2.25" to 2.5"....hurting-wise

I thought the b18b's were 2.5 at the header anyways...no?

no,
the ITR piping is 2.25, and it runs from the cat to the axle,
should bolt up fine,
then from the axle back it will be 2.5,
which will need some welding cuz i'll do a custom rig.. probly just get some mandrel bends and cutem/weldem to get the proper piping,
with a univerasal muffler.
