i jsut started my car today for the first time since the turbo has been on there and at idle it skips a little bit, could this be due to the injectors or the hondata. it will idle for a little hwile thne it will start to spudder a little bit then it will die. i havent tried to drive it yet and this is still on a basemap untuned. let me know what you think. thanks alot

You really should get your car tuned.

yeah im for sure getting it tuned before i drive it at all, but i was just trying to see if i should have my injectors cleaned or anyhitng before i tune it if that may be the problem. the injectors and hondata were the only fuel additions i have done so it is one or the other?
What kinda plugs are you running? I'm running Precision 1000cc's with Hondata and a Walbro 255 and mine does the same thing. I'm gonna change out the fuel filter this week and see if that helps a tad. Its nothing major, just bumps around a tad and occasionally dies. Also might depend on how your idle speed and stuff is set for the base map

i have the NGK BKR7E. it starts right up really quickly and idles perfect for 5 seconds then starts missing and making the pop noise. then if i rev it up or try to drive it, as soon as i stop it will die and i have to start it up again but holding the gas a little so that it doesnt die again. after it sits for a little while then i can start it up and it will idle for about 20 seconds before it dies, so its either the hondata (which im hoping) or the injectors which are dsm 450's
Sounds like you just need to get the car to the dyno and get it tuned. You will be able to adjust the idle and everything for the injectors and so forth. It'll smooth out once its done and tuned. Just remind your tuner of the idle problem so they know to change it when they burn the new map
Here is my experience with DSM injectors.
I got 4 brand-new 55# injectors. They ran good, but one day when I took off my intake manifold, I noticed a really strong smell of fuel. I took out the fuel rail and noticed that one of them was leaking pretty bad, about 1 drop fell off every 30 seconds.
I contacted the person who sold them to me, and he sent replacement. I received it within days, and installed it in my Jetta. Car ran perfectly when I test-started it. After about 2 minutes I shut it down. A few days later, I went for a drive, with plans to tune the SDS system. After about 5 minutes, the car started running on 3 cyls. at idle. When I stomped on it, it would pull strong as hell, but when I cruised or idled, it would misfire.
It took me about 2 weeks to find the problem. I was SURE it was the ignition. Turns out the replacement injector was not firing at low duty cycles.
The reason my car had no problems when cold, is that warm-up enrichment pushed that injector far enough (in terms of pulsewidth) to fire it. When it warmed up and tried to run a 13.5 AFR idle, it just didn't fire. Don't ask me why. The injector still clicked, just didn't spray fuel.
Maybe you can take out the fuel rail and see if all of them are firing (visually). I fired mine into a bucket to see what was going on.
Sorry if this sounds obvious.

i am just hoping that it is running really rich therefore making it misfire and the tuner will fix that. i just dont want to go to the tuner and still have this problem that i will have to fix. im going to check the plug gapping tonight to see if that is all good. what would be the best way to go about spraying the injectors, just pull them out and try and crank the car over?
Yeah, that would do it.
If your car is running rich enough to make it misfire, you should see black smoke coming out the back. Is this the case?

i am running open downpipe right now so i couldnt look for any smoke. i will try to have a friend check for me tonight. i am also thinking that the problem could be the IACV since that is the only code that i have. but that has been there for 6 months and never effected the idling when it was stock so i dont know if it would mess it up with the hondata or what. its just weird how it idles normal then after 5 seconds or so it starts missing. i tried to drive it down the street and whenever i stopped, the car would die. im thinking it is the hondata but i dont want to find out its another problem when i get to the tuner

You just answered your question. The base map is meant to control stock size injectors. If you double the size of the injectors, and let them stay open and spray as much fuel as the stock ones, obviously it will over-fuel.
Just get it tuned - it will be gone.

You have an IACV CODE and you are asking why your idle is off?
jeezus.......where's that smily that's slamming his head against a wall.......

but it idled perfectly before the turbo. the code really never showed any symptoms. so i dont know why all of a sudden it would be making it idle funny now...
my idle sounded just like this.. it would hold OK at like 800 RPM but you would hear like poping all the friggin time.. i just tried this Techron Fuel system cleaner on it, and it stopped doing that. my guess is the injectors or something in there was probably dirty or some ****.

UPDATE:here are the pics of the plugs. these were brand new when i installed them ane i have let the car idle maby 5 times and tried to take it down the street maby 100 feet once. the plugs look way black which leads me to believe i am just running very righ so i just need to get the hondata tuned. i hope thats the only problem. would the plugs looking like that cause the symptoms i have?
