6th gen replacement CAT - non OEM - any suggestions?
i need to replace mine. Have over 100kmiles so no warranty. From honda its about 7 bills so not down with that. From looking around seems like CALI ones are more expensive.. stricter emissions. My questions is this.. i already had my emissions test last year and will sell the car befor it needs another.. what cats out there can i buy that will work fine with my car and not set up of the o2 sensor thus tripping my check engine light? High flow? Obviously it needs to have the whole for the sensor to go into but it needs to not set it off too right. On top of that.. the car doesnt know its in CALI so what difference is a non cali cat goign to do as far as sensors ar concerned? xtremeflow.com they have one that fits with the o2 sensor deal but they arent cali emissions passable YET... what do u guys think.. its 2bills from them
go get a carsound high flow replacement cat. theyre epa carb legal. get the cali emissions one. im not sure if theres actually a difference between theyre universal and cali.compliant ones. http://www.kteller.com has the best prices for new carsound cats. or u can search around for a used one. i got mine for 35$ brand new (hell of a deal)
is there a reason you need a new cat??....
honda should pay for it, they were basically forced to extend the warranty indefinantly on all emissions/evap control systmes.....at least i think they have to.....

I've heard mixed reviews of Random Tech. I know a really good tuner that has had nothing but problems with them.

managed to bust up my crankshaft. Rather then pay labor and parts to replace it and still have an engine with 101k miles on it i paid 600 bucks and got a 2001 engine with 13k miles on it. Figured it was money better spent. its a 99 accord lx coupe . What are had check engine light on for loooong time before the crankshaft came on but i thought it was for some 90k mile service or something.. its off now on the they engine.. but when i first got it back last week i initially got the infamous p0420 code which was reset and nothing since... with over 100k from what i have read it seems honda leaves us on our own.....
