Default Can't engage clutch,,, HELP!!!

Well i finally start the car after the 4 month build... starts fine.. fix all the little leaks and whatnot,, then I go put it in gear,,, but she wont go???
I turn off the car, now it goes into all the gears perfectly,,,

So my friend tells me the put a few washers at the end of the clucth step so that the clucth pushes further... did it and NO Difference

Ah right now im totally frustrated and fed up!
I have a dual diaphrame pressure plate with a type R disk and stick flywheel...

Im gonna take off the tranny tomo and see whats going on with the pressure plate,, im guessing thats the problem?

any other suggestion?

thanks
Tyler

i am experiencing this same problem. i got the swap done, every leak was stopped, all was looking good. tried to put it in first gear....wouldn't go. it would go through all the gears like a champ when the car was off (obviously) but no such luck when stuff started spinning. what did you end up finding out? i'm taking my tranny off today to see what's up inside.

Having almost the same issue, however, sometimes the car will engage into first while the engine is on. Most times it will not....

Setup - R Tranny, JFD FD, TODA FW, Act PP, Kush-Loc clutch...

Car is in storage now, however, going to be pulling the tranny in the spring to see whats up.

If:

Engine Running-Wont go into any gear

Engine Off-Goes into all gears

Most likely a clutch problem. Try putting into 1st gear (engine off), start the engine and drive, if the car drives-its the clutch.

Have someone look at the slave as someone pumps the clutch to see if there any movement. If thats work fine then its probably the pressure plate.

i had the same problem when my clutch master cylinder went out- i got stuck at an intersection all of a sudden. try pumping it a few times quickly and then try getting it into gear.. that was my problem so i had an easy fix with my new master cylinder
