Default does gasoline conduct like water?

Here is why I'm asking, I wired up the fuel pump but I only used a regular tube wire crimp on the positive wire.. Its sealed electrically but not physically like that when you use shrink wrap. It IS safe from any grounds physically. But can electricity arc throught gasoline like it would through water?

gasoline as a liquid is generally hard to ignite.... its the fumes/vapor that are dangerous.... i would still definatly NOT use that connection, especially if you didn't think its 100% safe...
