Default Alternatives to hood pins?

My fiberglass CWESTIN hood moves around quite a bit on the freeway and I don't want to chance it flying up. But I also don't feel like cutting into a $700 hood. Are there any alternatives to hood pins? Thanks

.....locking hood pins.

No alternative. Peace of mind has a cost, and that my friend is cutting into a $700 hood. Get a good body shop to do it if you have anxiety over ******* it up...

the only other option is to get a regular hood or the heavier spoon one with the brace under it.

I debated the same issue as you with my hood. I ordered a $30 set of hood pins, went to Lowes and bought a $30 drill and $12 drill bit set and went to work. It turned out fine. It isn't hard to do. Just measure carefully and take your time.

the obvious reason is that there is too much air getting under the leading edge of the hood. the factory steel hood has rubber gaskets that seal the underside of the hood to the top of the headlights. try taping the front edge down and see what happens first. if it gets better, try the rubber gasket route.

duct tape ....just get the hood pins they arent much and it will save you from having hood fly open on you.......i did mine myself it wasnt hard at all just make sure you drill in the right spots...the best way to do that is put the hood pin bolt part in the put some grease or something on top of it and close the hood till it hits the pin and the grease will be in the spot you need to drill at....makesure the pin is all the way down .....thats how i did it

How about a mechanical hood lock?
