No oil pressure on rebuilt d16z6,HELP!!
I'm about fed up with this ****, bottom end done up with new zc pistons, rings, oil pump etc. start the car my oil light turns on then starts to go off and on flickering. i change my sensor on the back of the block with another same thing, i buy an electric pressure gauge with sender hook it up as per instruction and has power to the gauge and it reads 0.
Guys i'm about to give up on this bad nightmare, before it was overheating and i fixed that problem which was the fan not turning on, but now it's oil pressure what do i do?

Well there's probably something you missed. It could be clogged pick up, not sealed pick up, oil jet in block missing, possibly too big of clearance on the bearings, etc.

Yup.
Here's a better idea about the oil pick up https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=852761

Dude, sounds like you need to take a break from that thing. Unless its your DD, take a break from it and give it some time. Sometimes you just gotta do that cause its not worth getting mad and breaking something on it. It looks like you dont have any choice but to have have the machine shop tear it down and see whats going on. No oil pressure, means no oil pressure. Pain and simple. Make a list for the machine shop to check things that would cause it not to have any pressure and have them look over it. Don't pull it apart yourself cause if you do, the machine shop my void thier work that they have done on it and say screw you, you took it apart and messed with it, so were not going to touch it. Hope its something simple and easy (its prolly not tho)
Good Luck and remeber in the end, it will be worth it.

if u had no pressure and u rant it at all, yes its toast
check that whoever touched the pump, that the valve releif isnt off, or tuck open
check the pickup isnt clogged, or losseen, make sure theres nutting on the inlet of the pump......
if not get a new one.... i got some laying around from a Z6 and a B1
want it, u can have it for $15

So all you know really is that your gauge reads zero - right?
Pop your hood and start the engine. Take the oil cap off and look in there with a flash light. See if there is oil hopping aroung in there.
Every aftermarket oil gauge I've seen requires it's own sending unit. You don't hook the gauge to the stock pressure switch. Stock sensor is either OIL or NO OIL... nothing in between.
Anyway - if you don't see oil hopping around through the oil cap hole, turn the motor off and remove the valve cover. Inspect all around in the head for any traces of oil. It may be that you aren't getting oil at low rpm which suggests that maybe you don't have the gasket installed for the pickup tube. It could be other crap, but that's likely if everything else is in good working condition.
Still no luck, pull off the oil filter and tear it apart. Inspect for metal shavings. If you have LOTS (some are expected on a new motor) then it could be that the machine shop didn't clean the engine out before assembly. A chunk of metal shaving could have lodged itself in the oil pump and caused it to fail.

well disregard the fact that i have no oil pressure as i tool off my valve cover and sure enough their was oil , also turned on i took off the cap see if their was oil squirtin in their and their was so i have to guess that it's either the sensor or the oil sender that came with the gauge. i'll let you know later when i install my old sensor.
before my oil pressure gauge on my cluster was starting to flicker, so i cahnged it to another one and same thing, then i bought the oil pressure gauge with it's own sender and i'm still not getting any pressure. but oil is hopping around in their like crazy and i's not burning any oil and still crispy clean. also i just let it run another 30 minutes and still all is fine..argggggggg

well i took off the electric gauge and sender and bought a new oil pressure switch and connected it to the way it comes stock and it flickers on and off, you know what i did notice was when i took off the oil filter to get to the sender that came with the gauge their was no oil in the oil filter, is this normal when it's cold? i have no clue as to what is the problem.as mentioned oil is getting to the head, their are no leaks whatsoever, not burning oil. so i'm going to bed after the stress and depression i went thru today so thanks all for trying to help i'll wait till the weekend to see what happens.
up date took off my oil pan right now and their is nothing stuck in the oil pick up screen just a few specs of debris, But on the bottom of the oil pan their was a piece of rubber bigger than a quarter but smaller than a dime in width and some small other pieces of debris floating around in the remaining oil in the pan so let's see if that was the problem eating right now then im going back out to finish i will post some pics later of the piece of rubber and debris......
I really hope you had Enuff Oil Pressure to keep everything well lubed the whole time. Did you see any metal in your oil pan. Brass or Siler colored. I really hope you didn't Wipe your bearings, from it running dry or whatever was going on.
