Crane Hi-6
When I first got my car I was a little ignorant on its mechanicals. I had the ignition box on and i was getting a code 4 & 9. The car has been sitting for 6 months at the time and I took it to a honda dealer. They said they would have to remove the box and replace the dist. So I said whatever. They also said that the box was fried too.
Well.. now that I'm a little more knowledgable I believe the box is in just find shape. So my question is this. Without having to cutup all sorts of wires is there a way to get this thing installed? Like, does Crane sell / make special adapter harnesses that are basically plug & play ?

I don't mean to hijack your thread crx_88_si, but it seems as if your question has already been answered. If you don't mind, I've got a question about ignitions too.
The second car I just picked up has an MSD ignition hooked up to it. I think it's called a Baster 6 or something like that.
Anyway, I re-did all the wiring for it and made sure it's exactly right.
The MSD box makes a slight ticking sound that is in direct relation to engine RPM. If the RPM rises, the tick gets faster....if RPM goes down, the tick gets slower.
Is this normal? I heard after a while the boxes can make a whining sound, but was just curious if a ticking sound can be/is normal on an older unit as well?
If I just unplug the box from the MSD cap, will the car still work? Or will I have to convert back to the regular distributor to have it work without the box hooked up?

Once you disconnect the box you won't have any signal going to fire the coil off. the car wont' run. you could make up some sort of jumper to get the stock wires hooked back up.
