Manual tranny issues
Here's the scoop. Back a few months ago when I changed my timing belt (I think it was the day right after) I lost reverse temperarily. I say temperarily because it eventually became smoother and would finally engage where before the shifter would get stuck (had to forceably push it out). Occasionaly when I shift into 5th it does not synchronise and I can hear it grind for a split second. Very rarely first gear is hard to find or it will only partially slip into gear (just feathers the teeth). The other gears appear to be fine.
I should add this is on a 96 Accord EX with about 110k miles. I've seen pictures and it doesn't appear to me at least to be a lot on the shifter itself that could go wrong and give me problems. Could it just of fallen out of alignment or something?
I'll be replacing the clutch soon and am debating about working on the tranny itself. Is this something I should pay someone to do (overhaul only) or can an inexperienced person like me get it all put back together correctly. If I just have some worn synchos how much should I expect to pay?
I apologize in advance and thank you for your help. I know I have more question than info.

man, for changing out the synchro's and labor, ****, you could be looking at between 900 and 1600 depending on where you go, a friend of mine got that done in a car of his, although the work they did was impeccable, ****, it was a pretty penny, i think because they opened up the tranny, he had them change out other parts in the tranny at other alternate costs outside of the 900-1600 including labor!
two words...SCREW THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'll put up with a sticky transmission if it saves me that much money. I can put a rebuilt tranny in it for less than $1000 if it comes to that. I might crack open the center console tomorrow since I don't have to work for once. See what I find.
Far as the tranny fluid I haven't changed it but I did check the fluid level. I'm kinda holding off on changing the fluid till I replace the clutch, no sense paying for it twice. To re-ask my previous question there's nothing that could fall out of adjustment to cause this is there?
Hey does honda even make a limited slip differential? What about a six speed I could throw in there? I'm dumb when it comes to tranny internals and swaps. Also the H22B1 stuff and all the honda designations don't do much for me.

yea, thats the idea, just keep what you have while saving money for a swap, ****, its not worth changing out the inside parts of the tranny when for a little more you can get an H22 or something that can change the entire dynamic of your car...
