Default Tubular vs. Semi tubular dyno

found this on http://www.fab-forum.com thanks to ComposiMo.

You mean this:

Versus this:

?

If so, here is the difference (blue line being the my manifold (with the longer/bent runners), and the red line being the 'straight runner' manifold) :

looks like tubular make a nice difference in midrange....probably due to much quicker spool up

funny how even though there was a 2000rpm difference in the maximum rpm of each dyno run, it some how managed to make the exact same hp to the tenth.

none the less nice numbers.

If i'm not mistaken , that is titan motorsports car. Either way, the difference is quite an eye opener.

nice attempt, but they're not even the same engine. How do we know the 45lbs didn't come from the modded valve cover?

must be running more boost to because of the extra vents in the valve cover we are not being told the full story on this one

from the looks of the picture it is the same car/ motor in both pics... the extra breathers in the valve cover, different wastgate, and lack of information make it hard to believe it there was a good controled testing situation here.

though to the manifold... it makes great power obviously.

I remember ALONG time ago...like 4 years ago, I was talking to Full-Race Geoff on the Hybrid board about the Kooks Manifold he was using. Basically what he said was "It makes 50ft lbs, but you hafta reweld it every couple weeks." So that kinda goes along with that Dyno Graph is showing...althought that graph is weird as hell.

there is no doubt it makes a difference..but id say more so in that power range then down in the 300 whp range.

The full story, is that the car in question had the SFP manifold on it with everything you see in the picture with the new manifold on it... i only showed a picture of the SFP manifold on the old motor they had in the car in that post because thats the only picture i had... i didn't have a good picture of the SFP manifold as-installed when they did the motor upgrade, which also was when they added the vent system on the valve cover, and the upgraded WG... but those items were on the car with the SFP manifold when the original dyno graph was done. The only differences on the motor between the two dyno runs is the new manifold, new downpipe (which was almost identical to the old one), and the new WG positioning and dumptube.

As for everything else, if you're looking for specs on the rest of the car, or verification of the dyno results, talk to Willis or TitanMotorsports.com (James) on here

this reminds me of a quote i once heard

"new ideas are at first dismissed... eventually they are regarded as hearsey ... afterwards, they are regarded as obvious"

we will be doing our own test, using the same turbo, the same downpipe, the same wastegate, EVERYTHING. only change is manifold. we made a manifold special for this test.

boosted hybrid will be doing the testing.

this test was a lie, we have conducted our own test, in an unbiased private location COMPLETELY VIDEOED and i can quite clearly say our results were VERY different from the titan results.
