Default Steam clean?

I've heard that you can really get your engine bay clean by steam cleaning it. I want to do this but was wondering what type of steamer is used or how I should go about it. Maybe one can be rented? Anyone done this before?

Seems like alot of trouble when you can go to the auto parts store an get some GUNK "engine brite".

That stuff works pretty good with no scrubbing.

I've never had too good of luck with that stuff. It works, but I'm trying to go the extra mile and make every piece look like it was just built. From what I hear, steaming it is more work but by far the best way because the grease just falls off... so they say.

its not hard, i do it everyday at work. It's not really completely steaming it. Get degreaser in a squirt bottle with a little bit of water in it. Squirt it anywhere u want cleaned. Let it sit for likt 30 sec. Then set the pressure washer setting to ''burner'' or whatever it's marked for the hot water to come out, and blast away. The heat from the water will make a steam that helps as it goes into the air. But what it basically is, is a pressure washed cleaning. And the grease will come off , not fall off, but be blasted off. all you have to worry about is not getting much water on the cap, and battery terminals, other wise you can spray anything. Pay attention thought, if you have any lose clamps or anything like that, its possible the hose can come off. Had that happen to a couple of my hoses. No harm, just reconnect them and buy new clamps.
