How to clean Engine Bay?
My car is used, and pretty damn dirty inside, i will make pretty hoses and stuff as i go along but how do i get rid of the dirt, oil, and grease in the bay. What is the best and most efficient way to clean it and make it look good.

The umltimate way, IMO, is:
1) Spray bottle of 'Simple Green' (Best stuff on earth!)
2) Firm toothbrush
3) Larger sized brush
4) Garden hose without tip and very low water pressure
Directions: Spray Simple Green on all dirty parts and let sit for a few minutes. Begin brushing all areas where Simple Green was applied. Next, grab garden hose and with very little water pressure, begin to rinse off while brushing. Make sure to rinse the brush also, some of the dirt will also get stuck on the brush and ruin its cleaning abilities. Repeat as needed.

For the sake of mOuse and I, would doing this damage any of the sensitive parts such as the alternator or the distribtor?

I'll be nice. just use some engine degreaser, not the heavy duty type either. cover up the distributor and any exposed wiring. follow instruction on the can and please use caution on what you spray on like anything near the distributor.

cover alt and dis. along with anything else that may seem to get damaged by water. works good.

Re: How to clean Engine Bay? (all stock)
you really only need to cover the dist. but even that can go uncovered... honda's are sealed pretty well.. a friend of mine got stuck at a do it yourself car wash for 4 hours waiting for his dist. to dry out.
I'd recomend simple green FOAMING cleaner... it works GREAT on engines and doesn't harm plastic parts like gunk or other engine cleaners.. plus it's bio degradable... if you search you'll see a post w more detail by me to the same effect.
