I recently bought a distributor from Distributor King and had it installed, and now I get a rattling noise in the morning at start up and then it is also noticeable throughout the day at certain times.

Could I possibly have gotten a bad part, or could the timing be wrong? Anyone received a bad part from distributor king?

Any help is appreciated.

did you line it up just like your old dizzy?
did you use a timing gun?
did you install the rotor correctly?
does the rattleing get quicker as the rpm's increase?

 

I don't have a timing light so I had a shop do the install. So I would assume that they did it the correct way. Should I take the car back and let them know what is going on?

But no I don't notice the rattle as the rpm's increase.

 

i would take it back and see what they say first and go from there

 

I hav the same problem put my new dizzy on and now at base idle 750rpm its rattles like a valve or something by the dizzy... i drive it it goes away and it doesnt do it at high rpms? its sounds bad and i dont want to ignor it but wtf lol... any ideas i timed my car and did it all myself
