when i start my car is makes a sqeeking sound
like a cat is in my eng. lol

so i figure it my alternater belt
so i was chaning it and the bolt on the top snaps as i am unscrewing it
wtf
so i drill a screw in to it and put a bolt witha nut on the end, works good

changed the belt and all now 2 or 3 weeks later it is doing it agin damn it
the belt feels a little loss so i move the alt. back and try her out still dose it
its a new belt? i dont get it

also saw some "shaving" in my eng bay it looks like something is scrappin it but nothing is even close

I have the same sound coming from my engine, but my belt is too tight it seems to me. I loosened the bolt and tried to loosen the belt too, but after a few days it came back. Let me know if you find out what it is. BTW the noise goes away on mine once i hit over 4k rpm.

 

mine only ose it know when i start my car for a few seconds then stops

 

i also have the alt. belt whoas. every few months it will start to squeek. i just tighten it back up.

 

See, but you guys re-tighten. Mine feels like its too tight. Which bolts do i have to loosen to adjust the tension on my belt?

 

i dunno if you have power steering or not but if youre low on power steering fluid it can make a noise like that.

 

any one know?

 

your suppose to readjust the belt after a week of driving. Thats what it said on the box atleast.

I tighted the belt last week before i went to the race track after 2 days of event racing the belt fell off that night at the track ? it was just gone i tried to my it home but my chep *** walmart battery died so i got a ride home and had to go the next day and put on a new belt and bat. a new belt for the bleat i replace 2 weeks ago.

? and now it is makeing the sound again?
