Default Shift **** for AT

I currently own an AT EJ1. I found some shift ***** on Ebay for about 10 dollars, so I said why not. It's better then the big stock on. My question is, to go down from park to Drive, you have to press the button at the side. If I replaced the shift ****, how would what feature work? Would it just be free to move when you'd pull back on it?

Hmmm... I've seen all these big clinky ones with buttons that look very unattractive to me. This one I'm looking at is just a small round **** with no button... So, can anyone tell me how this would work with the small round ****?

It HAS to have a button to work. I tried putting a buttonless shift **** on my automatic and it would not move out of park.

Hmmm... My buddy has a 98 LS AT Integra, he has a small round shift **** to where he just pushes down on it, I'm not quite sure how he did it though.

Well that's just it. He still pushes down on it so in a sense it's just a large button. I'm guessing it's not screwed down into place and just kind of sits on the shifter.

yeah i've driven one.. you just push down on the stick(****) itself and it acts like a button, when you go into drive it will put up again just like a big button would.. so it locks and releases but still conceivable

So if I were to get a similar shift **** to this one http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...=WDVW

(This is just an example, and not the actual one I'd be buying) I could just rig it up so I push down on that **** and thus move the shifter between gears.
