Which tranny: H22A LSD, US H22 or H23 tranny?
Sup fellas. I'm preparing to purchase a new tranny for my 1999 Prelude and need some advice from some experts.
Will H23 tranny work with my US H22 engine? If so, do I need to change parts or is it easy plug?....like ecu, etc
Are specs the same for H23 and H22 us trannies?
Will JDM H22 LSD help my 1/4 mile times?
Where can I get (websites, etc) and how much on average is a H22 LSD tranny?
thanks for your replies!

You deff want the h22 LSD Tranny. Tranny code M2B4. Good luck finding one and it will probably cost you around $1000.
OR if you could get a JDM h22 tranny for cheap and slap a quaife in it then you are set.

it has shorter gear ratios and should improve your quarter mile times. Well some people dont like to pay a grand for a tranny and thats just for the tranny, thats not for install, shipping etc. Then hope you have a good tranny and dont have to replace any synchros.

yeah cause you spend a lot of time in 4th and 5th gear in the quarter mile
BTW M2B4 gears are shorter than the fifth gen anyway...so you're kind of wrong twice I think

well depends on what you want to do...n/a or turbo? if your going turbo i would suggest h23 because of the longer gear ratios
the best tranny for h22 is accord euro R H22A not h22a1,h22a4 or h22a7
it has a short gear ratio w/ Lsd.

i have a 94 vtec prelude. i dont know exactly what is wrong with your tranny but mine was stuck in reverse. my gear package was ok so i just had every thing else changed but added a quaif lsd and i couldn't be happier. think about it do you want an old beat up honda diff in an 11 year old tranny. or something brand new you can abuse yourself.
I have a 2000 base US H22a4 manual tranny with 13,400 miles on it in perfect working order (guaranteed). I just purchased a JDM Euro Accord Type-R motor and tranny (which comes with an LSD). In my stock tranny, I have a Quaife LSD installed with 5,500 miles on it. I'd be willing to sell that off as I have no use for it with the new T2W4 tranny. The tranny and Quaife come as 1, already installed (no way I am paying a shop 8-10 hours to de-install it). I would be willing to sell it for $1250 shipped to 48 states. I can guaranty mileage (pic of ododmeter now) along with a shop receipt for LSD install AND still have the box it was shipped in as proof. While you may be able to find a JDM one for a bit less (with ?able mileage and use and no owner contact) and then pay $795 or so for a Quaife then a shop 8-10 hours to install it, in the end it would probably cost more and take more time. Let me know, my swap is being done this week. Spocko_1701a@yahoo.com. Also have a JUN 12lb. flywheel that I'd be willing to part with as well (currently installed now in tranny) for an extra $225 shipped, as well as a RPS Stage 3 "Max series" clutch with 3,500 miles (currently installed) for $250 shipped (very streetable for daily driving > no chatter, great grip, pedal pressure is a bit stiffer though over stock > good for 500 hp).

that's what I was thinking, that's why I asked 'em if he was boosting or not.

Not to jack this thread, but how good is the factory LSD that comes with the Euro R tranny because I know that they do not make a Quaife that fits it...
