If you are over 300whp, keep your f22 tranny. If you are lower than 300whp, get an h22 tranny. I did the opposite of what you're trying to do .. went from a JDM H22 ( no LSD ) to a F22 ( Prelude S ) tranny, mainly because I wanted to stay in boost longer. I am also above 300whp, so it is your call. .. H22 trannys are short in gears, so it is very annoying having to switch every few seconds, almost seems like you're not taking full advantage of Boost. ..Another tranny, the Prelude H23, is a nice intermediate to consider, will also bolt right up.

Whats your power level? What was the breakdown on the run your friends deemed would be solved by a transmission change.

I personally stuck with the f22 trans but I am making plenty of power to pull it. I like the long gearing for staying in boost and on my drag radials with my slightly higher redline I dont have to shift out of 4th gear going thru the traps.

I dont know if I would agree about any power level. If you have enough power to pull the long gear I would rather run it and not have to shift every 2 seconds. Also the lower redline on the f series combined with a short h series trans, means a huge drop in mph per gear. You will be shifting in to 5th unless your running a tall tire.

does staying in boost longer, or shorter gearing (pending traction), equal a faster car? i see this subject come up all the time and it always seems to be a matter of opinion. does anyone actually have facts??
