Shipping a rollbar?
Anyone have experience shipping a rollbar? It's an Autopower so it'll unbolt and be fairly flat, but it's still kind of big. I'm down in VA and the seller is in upstate NY, I'm trying to avoid an 8-hour trip each way if at all possible. If the shipping cost is less than $100 I'd consider it worth it.
I received my rollcage from Kirk Racing via Old Dominion freight. When I sold it, I shipped it up to Chicago using Old Dominion freight. I dropped it off at one of their shipping centers, and the buyer picked it up at the shipping center at his end and it ended up costing us $60.
Do a pretty good job of wrapping the bar with padding and plastic wrap to keep it from getting too scratched.

I've been ebaying for furniture recently and greyhound seems to be the freight carrier of choice for items that are small to medium sized.
