Do your Yoko ES100s make road noise????
Ok so I have just about gone though my set of ES100s, I would say there is <25% tread on them. Nothing dangerous, but getting old. My problem with them is the road noise. They are creating a humming noise at any speed, highway is crazy. It is annoying as all hell.
I wanted to see if anyone else has had theis issue with this series of tires. Anyone?

FYI
There is NO irregular tread wear, scaping, cracks, or really any defects of any kind that I see. The noise is from all four.

After how long?
See that freakin sucks because I really liked these tires, I know the down sides of them but I need somthing that has the higher tread wear. I drive 70 miles a day to school, and need somthing that will last. As well as somthing with a decent amount of grip, so I don't have to have another set for auto-x. However if they are goign to do this crap, I might go back to Kuhmo.
We all know how the auto-x crowd feels about those...

Halfway gone.
Halfway gone.
Our set (195/55-15 on a '94 GS-R) are still relatively new but we haven't noticed any unusually loud noise. Not a problem.
Now, the Yokohama A032R (R compound track tires)... those are LOUD!
Mine are loud after having them a year. (minus 6 months of winter)
But then again, I'm too lazy to get an alignment so uneven wear is probably most of my problem.

Completely different tire but still a Yoko... I used to have some A520's w/ the 7-block tread... great tires but a butt load of road noise... sorry for the slight OT but thought I'd share.
Well I just got a set of 245/50-16 Yokohama ES100's for the Camaro recently and they do seem to be just a little louder than most other tires I've used (similar to the A520's)...but that doesn't doesn't bother me too much. The Camaro has a custom catback ehaust system and K&N intake filter, so it is not exactly quiet....
I will say this about the ES-100's, they are great daily driver tires - especially for their price!
Vracer111, who actually likes noisey tire songs... sing on baby, I still can't hear yah over the engine's voice... but maybe within a years time yall will form a duet...

A singing tire is a happy tire.

Sure, if you want a tire that costs more and doesn't last as long.
All tires are trade-offs. The ES100 offers very good performance and long treadlife for a bargain price. At that price, no other tire offers the same performance and treadlife. If your priorities are different, then another tire might be better for you.
