what's the easy way to roll back miles on a si cluster? i have bought and si cluster and it has 93k miles on it.. my car only has 58k miles.. i was wondering how to roll the mileage back or can a shop do it for me? if so where at in socal??

 

Just take the speedo from your original cluster and put it into your Si cluster.

There is a way of rolling back the millage. There is a thread on H-T somewhere on how to do it but the simplest way is to just swap the two speedos.

 

only problem there is that the face of the speedo wouldnt match the others.

Dude the mileage on the speedo isnt a big deal. Just write it in the owners manual. put down what the miles are on the origional speedo and the miles on the new speedo and you can still give exact mileage to someone if you plan to sell it in the future.

Why not? I have a SI cluster at home that I'll be installing in the next couple weeks and this is what I'll be doing. I'll have to look at the cluster again but I don't remeber them looking different.

edit: oh, wait. What year cluster are you refering to? I'm refering to the 92-95 Si cluster. That may be where we're getting crossed up.

 

ah yeah the 99/00 si gauges have a different look to them.

 

I don't know a way to roll back the mileage, but just drive 35,000 more miles and you should have no problem with switching clusters.

 

Will that si cluster fit in a 93 civic dash?

the ex cluster from the 98-00 is the same as the 99-00 si.. i compared it.. the only difference is the design on the gauge faces and the amber bulbs... the cutouts for the mileage numbers are the same ande everything.. i was thinking of swappin out my original speedo also but wasnt sure..will the cluster still work.. thats the only thing im scared about...

 

yes the cluster will work. Just take the old one out and plug the new one in.

remove the cluster and take both to any qualified speedo shop, they will perform the service for you. expect to pay $40-$60.
