crx si, swappin to B18C1
hey im a noob. lol alrite i need some help my si engine has over 180,000 miles on it and i want to do a 94-95 B18C1 swap. if i buy the complete swap from hmotorsonline and get hasport mounts and a B16 ys1 cable tranny what else do i need? and how do i convert from OBD0 to OBD1? thanks alot!
Much of this info can be found through "search". I'll help with some pointers though.
Ok, most JDM B18C engies are of OBD1 origin which means just getting an obd0-obd1 harness conversion. (frog makes the best one) Next, sell off the hydrolic tranny that comes with the gsr. that should be easy as extra tranny's are becoming more rare due to the large popularity of import engine swapping.
Yes, any b series will bolt right in with the aid of a mount kit. Hasport is one of the best, but more $$ too. If your looking for the YS1, make sure its the 92-93 gsr version only, it the best. All parts can bereplaced at a dealer if need, and gearing is very similar to the type R gearbox. The are harder to find, but if you look around, you'll locate one. I found and purchased 2 of them.
All other cable vtec trannies are known for syncro problems within a sort lifespan and don't have readily available parts here in North America unless you locate a special distrbutor.
