Default quick nooby valvestem Q

is it possible to change out valvestems without having to unmount/remount the tires?

YES. it is.

Although you have to break the top bead. Once you break the bead have a friend push down on the sidewall of the tire by the valve stem, use a valve stem remover to pull out the stem (make sure you catch the bottom part or else it'll fall in the tire/wheel!) and pop the new one on.

When i worked as a tech last year at a tire shop (i do sales now), i used to use this method when i'd mount the tires up and forget to put the valves in.

good to know.

i'm not sure what you mean by "break the top bead" though ?

unseat the tire from the top of the wheel, that's the best i can explain it.

when tire is mounted, the tire sits over a hump to lock it to the outside of the rim (to keep it from collapsing). Depending on what size tire you have, this can be real easy or a real pain in the ****. Low profile tires do not flex very well.

ok mine are probly imbetween,
they're 195-50-15's.

this is all cuz they put chrome valve stems on my tires..
and im getting black lugs.. so i want em to match.. heh...
yeah im picky.

chrome valve stems like the one piece metal ones? or the all rubber sleeved ones? Cause the chrome stems we put on cars are actually just chrome sleeves that slide over the regular valves and you can pull those sleeves right off.

hmm! might be!
definetely not entirely chrome,
the base is rubber.

i'll have to checK!

where do you work btw?
