Default Lack of oil.

Would a lack of oil cause the engine to bog at high RPMs. My Vtec engages according to my VAFC. But it doesn't sound like it does and the engine bogs a bit and RPS don't get up very fast. This happens in all gears. I tried changing my wires to my stock Type-R ones, and it still happens. Fuel Pressure is fine too. I just checked the oil, and it seems dangerousely low. (not sure how that happend) I don't have a CEL nor do I have a Oil light on. But would the lack of oil cause this?

Thanks.

did you add oil? how low was it? low oil can cause many problems, not enough oil pressure and vtec will not work.. but more important you might not get enough lubrication for moving parts and insufficient cooling.. now, how low was it?

btw.. oil light = zero oil pressure

you need to add oil and then if you have friends or the money go and get your car checked, ie. compression/leakdown, etc, our cars burn an exceptional amount of oil and need an oil change quite frequently, depending on driving, i notice that my oil gets black at 700 miles, i'm running pretty lean though, and my car backfires a lot due to my exhaust, but i change my oil every 1000 miles, i waited till 3,000 miles once, and even though my oil level was normal, the oil wasn't doing it's job, the oil already broke down and my car was acting up, my vtec wouldn't work, and the car would die, i noticed that our cars are pretty sensitive to anything inproper having to do with oil, the vafc doesn't know if vtec is actually engaged, it just knows that you set it up to engage at a certain rpm, so even though it says vto ON, doesn't mean vtec is actually engaged, just keep monitoring your oil after you change it, and check how the color is, as soon as it gets black, change it. hope that helps.

hesitation in v-tec usually means you have no oil on the dipstick . Taken from experiance w/ mobil 1.

Well it sounds like its definaltely an oil problem. At this time I haven't added any oil. I don't have any laying around, and its to late to go get some. I'll have to do it tomorrow morning. The oil is so low, it is virtually not there. When I check the dipstick, there is only a trace at the bottom of the stick. I think I'll take it to my mechanic tomorrow as well. Thanks for all your responses.
