i lost my only pair of keys...i have a 2001 prelude...how much will it cost to replace it and how?

 

Do you have the red key? If so go to the dealership, they're like 50 bucks each.

 

you can get a new set at the dealership.
im not sure how much but im guessing around $75 a key?
someone correct me if im wrong.

 

i think if you still have the red key then it is fine. just go to the dealership and have them cut and flash a new key for you. if you don't have the red key, then you are in big trouble. you have to change the whole ignition module plus your door locks and trunk locks...etc. coz i lost the red key...

 

do they make like the same ignition key for all the cars or something? my friend started my del sol up without my keys...

 

Used to be a parts manager at a honda dealership they are around $25. Preludes have an immobilizer in the key that allows that key to start only your car. If you dont have any original key you may have to pay a labor fee also for a mechanic to figure find the code for your car. Good luck.
