I always used the same pin. I didn't know you had to get a new one.,

why are you taking it out? Ive found it much easier just to drop the linkage with the tranny.

Eh Im pulling the whole motor.. just thought it would be a lil easier to take it out now... i guess i could leave the tranny in the car and just pull the longblock? How hard would that be? Im using crappy hand tools and mayyyyybe a compressor with an impact wrench.

If I was pulling the motor I would drop the entire engine/tranny because its going to be a pain trying to get the motor seperated from the tranny without taking the tranny out first. I mean, the tranny is pretty easy because you can just get somebody under the car and drop it on them and then slide it out(and reverse for install) but the tranny only weighs about 100lbs whereas the motor/head weighs alot more. If you drop it out the bottom side(which ive done....seems easier then the top side, atleast with the lower motor mounts still attached to the motor) then you could still leave on the shift linkage, but Id probably just go ahead and take it off.
