I have the opportunity to get a smoking deal on a 04 soft top. However, it only comes with the top itself...no frame. I'm pretty sure that the frames are different from the plastic to glass tops. Are the frames from AP1 to an AP2 different as well?
Is there a way to get around having to buy the glass top frame?
Also, I know that Mr. Projekt had a write up on how to swap tops. I forgot what the thread was called, though. Would you mind a little copy and paste action? Or just point me in the right direction?
Thanks!
P.S. no. I didn't search yet.

i have a complete write up on my laptop...... but i aint on my laptop.. LOL
yes both the plastic n glass frames are different... you have to add some straps to keep the glass in the right position when putting the top down...
i was gonna do it once my top got messed up the second time around ....
you can get robins tops for cheap as well to convert over to glass

yeah, but this is an OEM top for less than the robbins top. I think the robbins top is made out of a different type of material. Plus you know how OEM stuff always fits and looks better.
Let me get that write up, yo! lol i'd appreciate it. thanks in advance!

To anybody that has done a robbins top conversion, ive noticed that the top frame sticks up slightly higher than stock, when reclined.
Does anybody know if you can still use the stock tonneau cover, with the conversion?

It seems like the stock glass window tops stick up more than the plastic window tops as well. I think it's normal. I'm sure your tonneau cover will still fit. They should be the same for all years. Although, I have been wrong before.
