Default ECU (newbie)

I just recently purchased a 02 EP3 I was wondering what sort of ecu's if any are out there? I have been trying to research but I have come up with nothing.

Please help me out here.

The best thing you can do is Hondata K-Pro, or the EP3 Reflash. You can't just change ECU's without another key (with immobilizer). You can't use the K20A2 (K20A) ECU because the K20A3 and the K20A2 don't share the same VTEC mechanism. If you take an ECU from a K24A1/4, you'll have a lower fuel cutoff, more fuel, and I'm not sure about their VTECs either.

Thanks a lot guys.

I'm just looking for some minor mods which I can get some decent power from.
Any more recommendations would be great.

I have one other question what do you mean by a key for the ecu?

Your key has a chip in it. It is part of the immobilizer system (theft deterrant), which tells the ECU whether or not to send power to the fuel pump. Wrong key = no fuel = no start. Right key =

Is that the same technology in the integra TYPE R? I was told the type r has a chip in the key as well.

My other question is: will installing an alarm system conflict with any of the cars antitheft system?

Yesterday I was talking to a guy that does hondata dyno tuning and asking him Q's about hondata cause I'm thinking of getting it for my girls 04 ep3..He said that for the price its not worth getting the reflash, might as well get the k-pro. and from numerous people, k-pro is awesome..

let say you're not a big tuner, dont have the resources or inclination to do any major tuning, you can get a decently tuned flash, and a CAI for a couple hundered less than the K-pro... there are many reasons to get the flash over the k-pro... But I really have no room to talk because you will have to pry my k=pro from my cold dead hands...

I had Derek from Hondata try out K-pro on my car for 30 minutes while he was tuning my friends turbo LS/VTEC. I don't know what kind of maps he put on there, but untuned my car pulled. With $400 more, you can change around things and stuff. You can take off CELs if any come up.

Yes, 00-01 Type-Rs had the immobilizer. No, the alarm will not conflict with the immobilizer because I have an alarm on my DC5.

ok thanks for the insight guys. First thing I think I'm going to do is lower the car. I think I will invest in a tein kit.
