Default Fitment question about Apexi World Sport catback exhaust on a 92 HB w/ Y8

Before anyone jumps down my throat saying "SEARCH", I have searched and this questions is one that was not asked.

Yesterday my stock exhaust took a crap and know sounds loud as hell. It actually hurts my ears it's so loud. So I was thinking about getting a World Sport exhaust for a while but I was just waiting for the stock exhaust to go before spending money on a new one. Well now is that time. I've read that the WS fit great, sounds great and just over all good remarks. My questions is:

I have a 92 Civic CX with a D16Y8. I bought this car like this and don't know much about what was done to make it work. I don't know if anything was altered in the exhaust system to make everything ft correctly. Will the WS exhaust fit up to the D16Y8 header without any problems? Will the entire exhaust fit on the car with the Y8 header? I'm just wondering if the Y8 header is longer or shorter than the stock CX header. Or are they same length. I looked at the exhaust that is currently on the car but I can't tell if it was cut and welded anywhere or not. It don't apper to be but it's rusted quite well in some areas.

So anyone that has done the D16Y8 swap into a 92-95 HB or anyone else that knows please let me know if you had to modify the exhaust to fit.

TIA

AFAIK, a D16Y8 header is the same as a D16Z6 header, so in other words, the WS should bolt right up.

If worse comes to worst, just have a muffler shop either cut the pipe or extend it to make it fit.

Thats what I'm trying figure out. I don't want to go to put it on the car and have it not fit. I just don't want any surprises.

I'm hoping this is true. Thanks

Just get a WS for an Si and not a CX and you should be fine. After a second of looking, D-series headers are sold for '92-'00 Civics, so D16Y8 header = D16Z6 header...placing the cat after the header, under the car, rather than like on the CX where the cat is integrated.

You'll be good to go

Cool, Thanks. I'll probably order mine tomorrow from OverBoost.com They have them for the 92-95 Hatchback for like $397.

If anyone else has any input please let me know.

Thanks

I was thinking about something. My current setup doesn't have a cat. The exhaust bolts straight to the header. If I buy one for an Si, which would have the cat after the header, would that make the exhaust shorter to allow the cat to fit between the header and the exhaust piping? Or are all 92-95 hatchback the same?

Thanks

ok, a little off topic, but whats the difference between the World Sport and the World Sport 2? The one from Titan is a World Sport and the one from OverBoost is a World Sport 2.

Also, replies to my original question is still needed.

Thanks
