2nd gear problem

ok well my b16 goes into gear but doesnt work.
I can start the car in 2nd and let off the clutch and it wont stall out and it just idles like normal.

check the clutch master cyl, could even be the fluid

have checked your shift linkage?
shift fork?

wait.
My second gear doesnt work. All the other gears work.

i the tranny actually shifting gears?
have somebody put the car on 2nd while you listen close to the bottom of the tranny to see i the shift fork/shift mechanism is shifting
