I have a 2000 ex with a cold air intake and eibach lowering springs. My question is, what should I do next? Is this ebgine worth heavily modifying, or should I save up and get a b series engine. I have never had a vtec car before and don't know the capapbilities of this engine any advice is greatly appreciated.

The D16Y8 is a good platform to work on. Build it.

 

What are your goals? The D16Y8 engine is a good platform to work on as they are cheap and can take about 200whp on stock internals, which is more than enough for most people.

 

I'd prefer not to go forced induction but like a lot of people out there my goals is to be as fast as possible.
