Default B20/VTEC swap....VTEC not kicking in.....

Ok, well here's the stats....I have a 95 civic ex. I swapped in a B20 block with a GS-R head and tranny. I'm using the D16z6 wiring harness and ECU (hasn't been chipped yet). So I took the car for it's first ride the other day and when I expected to hit VTEC....nothing. Any reason that it isn't kicking in? I ran the oil line from the block to the head and hooked up the D-series VTEC solenoid tot he GS-R head and plugged it in. Any help would be great...thanks.

Did you plug the VTEC oil supply hole in the bottom of the head (on the mating surface of block to head)?

Yes....the hold on the underside of the head was plugged. I'm running an OBD1 ecu and I have the factory D-sereies VTEC solenoid.

That is your problem. You are using a P28 ecu right? Well the P28 is for a SOHC vtec. so the Vtec wont kick in right. Get it chipped for DOHC
