What do u guys think about the Yokohama A520's ????/
I have had a couple of friends use them for autocross and street on a Sentra and an MR2 and they seemed to like them but they don't last too long.
i got a520s
i bought the 215's cause i knew i was going turbo and the traction would help
i love em. i dont care about the sound they make, if i was worried about a little humming sound i wouldnt have bought my exhaust, my turbo, my blow off valve, or my stereo

yeah 180 tred wear and they are loud but they hook up well! i think i got almost a year out of them which was 15,000 miles
I got a year out of them as well. Proly 16,000 miles for me.
I think they are great tires. awesome grip, stiff side walls.
I use 225/40's 16's on my GSR. no problems even on wheel lock. I AutoX them every month. (except one month where it was a 2 day event). THe tire that everyone is talking about now is the Falken Azenis. The size I use on the tire
is not available on Falkens I think

I liked mine. They were 16's and on my LS but I liked 'em and felt substantial traction improvement over stock. Great wet traction too!
As for wear I have to agree, they didn't last too long.
And Yes they were loud.

They suck compared to 010's, Toyo Proxes T1-S, and Pirelli P Zero. Nice stiff sidewalls but not so much ultimate grip, and LOUD.

You guys need to try the new Bridgestone Potenza S03....The are better than my Yokohamma AVSI and last alot longer. Plus they are good in the rain.

i too am looking at the A520's as my summer tire for next season. i don't care about the noise level, i just want a really good sticky street tire. i like the A520's so far because of the size (225/40), it has the same diameter and rev/mile as the OE 010's so gearing will not change, only the weight. according to tire rack there are a few other tires in that size along w/the A520's: Dunlop SP 9000, Kumho 712, and Pirelli P7000. I would LOVE to get a set of the new S-03's but i don't see they make a 16" size that would work well for the ITR. they make a 225/45 but the diameter and rev/mile are too different from the OE size and i feel the gearing will change to much. that is why i am leaning toward the A520's now but maybe by spring other tires and sizes will be available.

yeah keep in mind though for 215/40s the a520s is $110 each, the s03s are $185 each.
Them A520's got me 2.2 60ft. consistency @ the track with my 17's. Not bad for a street tire IMO. It's been a little over a year now and still got plenty of thread. Just do a lot of tire rotation.
