Default a little confused about inercooler reducers/couplers

i am trying to get some reducers for my precision intercooler and my drag piping. i was under the impression that the intercooler has 2.5 in inlet and outlet. so i ordered 1 2.5-2" reducer and it didnt fit. i was told that the drag piping is 2" to the intercooler and 2.5 out to the throttle. well i was thinking i didnt need one for the outlet and i do. so now if confused on what size to order. when it says 2" is that inside diameter or outside??? what about piping??? i just dont know what to get really, any help is appreciated.

usually its says 2.5 id or od for inner or outter... when i put on my 2.5 couplers.. it was a really tight fit. so i just sprayed some silicone lube and forced it on.. its tight as a **** now. if your coupler is totally the wrong size.. just measure the id and od of your piping to be sure.

when you buy a coupler the size is refering to the inside diameter (ID). Piping is sized by the outside diameter. When you buy clamps add 1/4"- 3/8" to the ID of the silicon to account for the thickness of the material.
